01 / Connect to OBS
Controlling OBS alone? You do not need to install Companion.
- 01
Join the same network
Connect your iPhone and the computer running OBS to the same local network.
- 02
Show the QR code in OBS
Open Tools → WebSocket Server Settings. Enable the server and authentication, then select Show Connect Info.
- 03
Scan and connect
Scan the QR code from FoldDeck’s connection settings, then choose Save and connect.
02 / Pair with Companion
- 01
Open Companion on your computer
Download from the official website. On Mac, open the DMG and drag the app to Applications. On Windows, open Setup.exe and follow the installer. The Windows build is unsigned and may trigger a warning. Check the download source and verification information; do not disable security features.
- 02
Start the connection
A pairing QR code appears automatically when the connection is ready.
- 03
Scan it on your iPhone
In FoldDeck, open Settings → Companion pairing → Scan QR code.
- 04
Test and save
Choose Test connection, then Save pairing. Register the actions you want to use in Companion’s Actions tab.
Having trouble connecting?
Check your network
Use the same network and check for guest Wi-Fi device isolation or VPN restrictions.
Check permissions
Allow local network and camera access on your iPhone, and check your computer’s firewall settings.
Refresh the QR code
If your computer changes networks, use its current connection details. Scan OBS and Companion codes in their respective settings screens.
Check Mac permissions
Keyboard shortcuts require Accessibility permission. Some app actions also require Automation permission.
If you need help, email your OS and app versions along with the error message. Do not send passwords or pairing QR codes.
